Anne Levine is
a semi-abstract painter interested in the intersection of people and place. We rarely see figures in her paintings, but we feel them. Her landscapes - coastal, urban, countryside, sometimes imagined - bear traces of human activity : left-behind objects ; lingering human emotions.
Anne gives voice to the memories, feelings stories which remain in place long after their human inhabitants have moved on.
Mel Barrett
Her paintings bring out that rare feeling of joyful melancholy, or melancholic joy.
They remind us of the moments when we were alone, even lonely, but aware of it, of the fact that the only constant thing in life is change.
